Once the roof coverings at the new site in L\u00fcbeck-Genin are finished during the next weeks, construction of the interior will start. The new Group headquarters is expected to be finished at the beginning of 2018, with the company planning to move into the building during the first quarter of 2018.<\/p>\n<p>The new location will provide space for around 500 employees. On a one-shift operation basis, SLM Solutions plans production capacity of around 500 machines per year at the new premises. The building that is currently being constructed will occupy around 17,000 m\u00b2 of the total land area of 70,000 m\u00b2. This will make it possible to construct extension buildings directly at the new site in the future.<\/p>\n<p>Uwe B\u00f6gershausen, CFO of SLM Solutions Group AG, explains: &#8220;We made sure when planning our new headquarters that the ground plans exactly meet the needs of our production processes. Our aim was to keep connecting routes as short as possible, and already further improve the possibilities for coordination between departments through the new premises&#8217; design. We believe we can significantly further optimise our manufacturing process in this way and raise our productivity. We will also have more space for our research and development activities at the new site than is currently possible.
